Critter feature!

In the previous post I wrote that I was suffering from severe (personal definition here) lack of sleep. So to remedy this 'problem', I slept for a total of 10 hours, only waking up at 1pm this afternoon. Now I have another 'problem' - oversleeping. You know that feeling? Yeah. Don't like it. So will revert to lack-of-sleep schedule. Prefer eyebrow muscle twitches to grogginess.

I saw a really cute picture today:

Isn't it the cutest little thing? I have a strange affinity to members of the Testudine family, i.e. turtles, tortoises, and terrapins. Maybe it's because I kept a few terrapins as pets many years ago. Note the use of the past tense kept. All aforesaid pets either ran away or died. I was devastated. But after seeing this cute little picture flashing on the Yahoo! website, I think I might be ready to try another pet or two. The little turtle on the right is a really rare breed. So rare are they that they are given a special status to call their own: "endangered species". The turtle in the picture is a Beal's four-eyed turtle. And no, contrary to popular belief, it does not have four eyes. Rather it's named that way because, and I quote some aquarium official from the Tennessee Aquarium, Chattanooga, Tennessee where this cute little critter hatched: "named for two white spots on the back of its head that look like a pair of eyes". Isn't it the cutest little thing? Awwww... I think I really wanna go buy a terrapin and keep it in a little glass bowl in my room and feed it lotsa food and refill his bowl with water from the sink and talk to him each night and... Wait a minute. Do terrapins like air-conditioning? And late night Cola-drinking? Hmmmm... A few good points to ponder. Apparently it weighed only 6 measly grams when it hatched on June the 9th. 6 grams! That's, like, one swig of Coke! Or one swallow of pasta. Man. Poor little thing. I hope the other fishy occupants of the aquarium don't accidentally mistake him for lunch or something. They better take real good care of him too, 'cause they said in the article that "there are only 18 known Beal's four-eyed turtles in the United States and Europe". Man, imagine that! I wonder if they're all related.

Moving away from hysterical turtle stories, today is Monday, which means tonight is CSI night for all non-pay TV viewers in Malaysia! CSI:NY is on at 8.30pm, followed by some other non-related-to-CSI stuff after that, and then 10.45pm is the slot for CSI:Miami, which of course means that 11.45pm belongs to CSI:Vegas! People, get out your Cola cans and pop your greasy popcorns! It's Crash-In-Front-Of-The-Idiot-Box night! Only once a week!

Okay. I think I better stop writing or some people might get really irritated and bang their heads against their computer screens. This blog is supposed to be safe and non-hazardous (yeah, right). So that's it from me for today. See you all tomorrow!
